Coconut Challenge – Paddle, Scoop & Laugh Out Loud

Welcome to one of the wackiest and most-loved events of the George Town Cruising Regatta! The Coconut Challenge turns the Fruit Bowl — that calm patch of water behind Chat ‘n Chill and Volleyball Beach — into a floating frenzy of fun.

Here’s how it works: teams of four hop into their dinghies (motors off, of course!) and use a single flipper each to paddle, steer, and scoop up as many coconuts as they can before time runs out. It’s a hilarious mix of strategy, balance, and good old-fashioned teamwork.

All ages are welcome, bring your friends, form a team, and be ready to get a little wet while competing for ultimate coconut glory. Come cheer us on, being a spectator is just as fun to watch from shore as it is to play!
